Balangir, Feb 5 (LocalWire) The day-long shutdown called by lawyers on Wednesday seeking a bench of the Odisha High Court has hit normal life in several places of western Odisha, eyewitnesses said.
Shops, commercial establishments downed their shutters, while both government and private offices remained affected in the district of Balangir, Sambalpur and Boudh.
Railways had to cancel Sambalpur-Puri Intercity Express as protestors squatted on track.
Normal life was affected at the district headquarters town of Balangir where most of the shops and business establishments remained closed for the day.
Both government and private buses were off the road.
Several petrol pumps, banks, post offices, civil courts and other government offices were closed in the support of the call.
