Bhubaneswar, October 15 (LocalWire): Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela has taken over as the Director (Refineries) of Indian Oil, the country’s highest-ranked public sector enterprise in the Fortune 500 global listing.
He is also a Director on the board of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) and the West Coast Refinery and Petrochemicals Project, the world’s largest grass-root refinery project that is coming up in Maharashtra.
The chemical engineer with 33 years of extensive experience in refining and petrochemical operations, Vaidya now spearheads the business and operations of nine refineries and petrochemical plants of Indian Oil.
He also had a decade-long association with the Panipat Naphtha Cracker Complex, which is one of the major drivers of IOC’s petrochemical business.
Vaidya is among the select technocrats in the country’s oil and gas sector who is proficient in all the facets of refinery-petrochemicals integration, desirable for the sustainability of the industry in the long-term.
