Bhubaneswar, August 4 (LocalWire): Odia woman Sanjita Mohapatra has brought laurels to the state as she secured All India Rank 10 in the UPSC Civil Services exam this year.
LocalWire talked with Sanjita to discover her success mantra.
LW: Congratulations on securing AIR 10 in UPSC Civil Services examination. Can you describe your journey to us and who would you say has played a role in your success?
Sanjita: Preparing for the IAS exam is a long and arduous journey.
I would give all the credit to my family members and teachers, who have supported me at each and every step.
My husband and in-laws also deserve credit for the way they have stood behind me and supported me every time.
They motivated me whenever I faced any problem, and it is because of them that I am her today.
My school, college, university, all of them have a role to play in my success as all of them have helped me grow.
LW: What was your strategy for cracking the Civil Services exam and how many hours did you devote for its preparation every day?
Sanjita: I think that this question has no right answer.
Every minute is important while studying for such a tough exam.
More than the number of hours we study, it is important that we do it with concentration.
I used to prepare a weekly routine for myself with a target of completing two subjects per week.
I also used to recall all that I had read before going to sleep every day.
LW: You had cracked the OAS exam and were the 2nd topper in the state, but did not take up the job. Can you tell us why?
Sanjita: I had always dreamt of being an IAS officer, which is why I decided to further prepare for my IAS exams.
LW: Now that you have achieved your dream, which department would you prefer to work for?
Sanjita: In whichever department and district I am posted, I will try my utmost for its development and progress.
That being said, I would prefer to work for the Health, Education or Women Empowerment departments.
