Bhubaneswar, December 29 (LocalWire) Darigibadi block, widely regarded as Odisha’s Kashmir valley for its scenic and picturesque environs, on Sunday witnessed season’s second snowfall, much to the delight of eco-tourists.
Thin layer of ice was spotted at night in the interior area of the town.
It has depicted a panoramic picture of snowfall with the hilly landscapes here wearing the look of hill stations of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
The area recorded 5.5 degree Celsius minimum night time temperature, the local Meteorological Observatory officials said.
Besides Daringibadi, layers of snow were carpeted around Simanbadi, Rajobnagar, Mallakacheri, Dakarabadi, Sarubaha and Pangali villages.
“It is for the first time that I have witnessed snowfall. Despite the spine-chilling cold, we are delighted seeing the breathtaking beauty of Darigibadi. For us, it’s an exhilarating experience of lifetime”, said a tourist Sundamini Panighahy.
