Bhubaneswar, August 26 (LocalWire): The state government has decided to sensitize beneficiaries of flagship Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme through social media platforms for its effective implementation.
It has been decided to set up information centres to enlighten the farmers more on the scheme. YouTube Channel will also be used for the purpose. The frequently asked questions (FAQs) will be made readily available on digital and non-digital channels with a 24-hour helpline, said senior officials of the agriculture department.
Under the KALIA scheme, small and marginal farmers, share croppers, landless agricultural labourers and farmers in distress are provided financial assistance to augment their income.
The department has initiated measures to provide and promote training and awareness to KALIA stakeholders. KALIA Barta will be created to monitor and analyse the nature of questions asked and the resolution rate.
High-quality training material in English and Odia will be developed both for the officers and the beneficiaries.
The scheme will be reviewed on the key performance indicators. A third-party evaluation will be utilised to assess impact on KALIA beneficiaries and suggest fine-tuning of the scheme.
Regular block and district-level interactions with the implementing authorities will be undertaken. To ensure the smooth and progressive roll-out of KALIA and to manage internal and external communication and programme objectives, a Project Management Unit (PMU) will be put in place.
Farmers who are able to transform their livelihoods successfully using KALIA will be identified and duly rewarded on a yearly basis. Besides, officials will also be felicitated for effective implementation of Kalia.
