Bhubaneswar, May 2 (LocalWire): To evacuate people from the coastal districts of Odisha that are likely to be affected by the cyclonic storm Fani, special arrangements have been made and people are asked to vacate such places.
In Puri town, a special train and bus services have been arranged as people, including the tourists, are asked to leave the town by Wednesday evening.
Railway department has decided to run a special train from Puri to Shalimar in Kolkata. The train will depart from Puri railway station at 12 noon, official sources said.
As per IMD latest update, Fani currently lies centered around 510 km South-Southwest of Puri coast.
Notably, the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) has released a video advising people not to panic and stay prepared with an emergency kit comprising necessary items like a matchbox, dry food, medicines, drinking water, candles etc. in view of the cyclone.
The cyclonic storm is likely to impact coastal districts like Ganjam, Gajapati, Khurda, Puri and Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balasore.
