Bhubaneswar, Nov 27 (LocxalWire): After the Mahanadi bridge bus mishap that killed at least 12 and injured several others, the Odisha Government has decided to install speed radar guns on National Highway (NH) 16 to check on rash driving.
Speed radar guns will be set up at 25 accident spots in the first phase on the National Highway from Khurdha to Chandikhole in Jajpur district.
Ccost of this project is estimated at Rs 7 crore.
The speed radar gun can detect speed of vehicles from a distance of 700 meters. The device can also click pictures of speeding vehicles.
The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate will monitor movement of vehicles online from traffic control room.
