Puri, Jan 25 (LocalWire) The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has issued a fresh order to all servitor groups of Srimandir, warning them of strict action in case of disruption in daily and timely rituals.
In a letter to all servitors, SJTA chief Administrator Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra said any disruption of rituals by servitors will result in disciplinary action.
On Jan 18, the temple administration announced it will form a three-layer supervision mechanism to make sure all rituals are conducted as per schedule.
On Dec 27, servitor Bhawani Shankar Mohapatra of Bhitarichha servitors group alleged police constable Chhukesh Meher of IRB Ninth Battalion manhandled him over entry of two people into the temple.
Following the incident, rituals and darshan were delayed by over 12 hours due to a standoff between police and servitors.
