Koraput, March 20 (LocalWire): State Congress working president Pradeep Majhi on Wednesday filed his nomination for the Nabarangpur (ST) Lok Sabha seat before the returning officer.
“We will go to people with issues like chit-fund scam, unemployment and distress sale of paddy. I am hopeful, Congress will wrest the seat from BJD this time,” said Majhi after filing his papers.
Majhi, who had represented Nabarangpur from 2009-2014, was accompanied by Chhattisgarh’s Excise Minister Kawasi Lakma and MLAs of Jagdalpur and Bastar assemblies.
Majhi will fight against BJD’s Ramesh Chandra Majhi in Nabarangpur.
BJD had dropped sitting MP from Nabarangpur Balabhadra Majhi, who has now joined BJP.
