Bhubaneswar, August 15 (LocalWire) After a large scale reshuffle of key bureaucratic positions a week ago, the state government announced names for key posts on Thursday.
Most of the posts announced by the government are directly linked to Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) such as the office of Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Agriculture Production Commissioner and advisor to the Chief Minister.
The government announced the name of senior bureaucrat Asit Kumar Tripathy to be the next Chief Secretary as the incumbent officer in the position Aditya Prasad Padhi is set to retire on August 19 to be the next State Election Commissioner.
Asit Kumar tripathy, has recently been appointed as Chief Administrator for KBK district and is a 1986 batch IAS officer who hails from Titlagarh in Bolangir district.
He holds a degree in M.A(Political science) M.Phil, LLB and is a former student of prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University.
In other major changes, Suresh Mohapatra, the officer tasked to oversee Fani restoration work in the state has been appointed as Development Commissioner with additional duty of Working Chair in Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Pradipta Mohapatra has been appointed as the next Agriculture Production Commissioner.
Krishan Kumar, who has been appointed as Secretary with the Works Department will work as Chief Administrator of SJTA, in place of Mohapatra.
In another key appointment, retired bureaucrat R Balkrishnan who was with the Chief Ministers’ Office as advisor for special initiative has been appointed as Chief Advisor.
These changes will take effect from August 19, a communiqué from the Chief Ministers’ Office read.
Along with these posts, Member, Board of Revenue and Chief Administrator for KBK are the positions which directly report to the Chief Minister.
