Bhubaneswar, April 11 (Local Wire): The state government which is now baffled with the detection of COVID 19 cases even after 14 days of quarantine period has decided to extend the period from the existing 14 days to 28 days on case to case basis.
The state health department had earlier asked recent travelers to remain in quarantine for 14 days and watch their health for 14 more days.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also started their drive of pasting quarantine posters outside the houses of those who have already undergone their 14 days of quarantine.
Prem Choudhury, BMC Commissioner said, “We are pasting the posters outside the houses of persons who recently came from foreign countries or from other vulnerable states.
This is to keep a watch on asymptomatic persons,”
In many COVID patients tested positive after 14 days of their quarantine period while most of the case in the state were asymptomatic.
So the government is now taking the measure to expand he quarantine period.
