Bhubaneswar, May 17 (Local Wire): The state government has now increased the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel in the state to boost their revenue generation.
The government increased the VAT to 6 percent for petrol taking its share from the existing 26 per cent to 32 percent.
The consumer will now have to bear the burden of Rs 3.11 extra due to the order.
On the other side the government hiked the VAT for diesel too to by 2 per cent more increasing its slab from 26 per cent to 28 percent.
Consumers will now have to pay Rs 1.03 extra per liter due to the new order.
Now the retail price for petrol will be Rs 71.69 per liter for petrol and Rs 67.73 per litre for diesel for Bhubaneswar city.
