Bhubaneswar, Sept 10 (LocalWire): The office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) today issued new guidelines for observance of Durga puja and other festivals in the state.
The detailed guidelines claimed that no organizer can plan pandals during this festival without the permission of the District Collector and the Commisionerate Police in case of the twin cities.
The department said that the pooja should be observed for rituals and public presence and public darshan should not be entertained.
The new norms said that not more than seven persons should be present at such sites any point of time during including the priests and organizers.
The new rules will be applicable to Durga puja, Kali puja and other festivals in the month of October and November.
The rules also said that there would not be any public address system, no grand organisation of such festivals and all Coronavirus related rules must be followed.
It also said that the height of the idols should not be more than 4 feet and immersion procession should not be taken.
The immersion has also been asked to be done in immersion tanks.
