Berhampur, May 9 (LocalWire): Former chairperson of state Planning Board and an eminent academician, Pramod Kumar Sahu, passed away today at his residence here. He is survived by a son and two daughters. He was 77.
Sahu, a retired professor in Commerce, Berhampur University, was ailing for the last few months. He was recently discharged from a private hospital at Bhubaneswar, his family said.
Sahu, who was associated with the RSS, was also part of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandira. He was also the chairperson of Forum for Ganjam, which is spearheading the demand to establish an IIM at Berhampur.
Several eminent persons including politicians and academicians thronged to his residence to pay tribute to Sahu.
