Bhubaneswar, June 20 (LocalWire): Odisha Saturday reported a total of 179 new cases of Coronavirus in its latest round of sample testing, the government said today.
According to the details furnished by the State Information and Public Relations department, a total of 179 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours in the recent testing. With the addition of new cases the total case of the disease touched 4,856 today.
The department claimed that out of the 179 new cases detected, 150 are from quarantine centres while 29 are from local contacts.
A total of 15 districts reported the new cases. On the other hand 18 more NDRF and Fire personnel who returned from West Bengal Amphan duty tested positive.
The highest of 57 new cases were detected from Ganjam district while it was followed by Khurda which saw 27 new cases.
The latest statistics claim that the state has a total of 1543 active cases as of now while the total recoveries stood at 3,297.
The government maintains to have conducted a total of 2,19,774 tests till now.
