Bhubaneswar, July 9 (LocalWire): The state government has now suffered loss of revenue upto 23 per cent till June of this fiscal year compared to the corresponding figures of last year.
The data came to limelight in a review meeting taken by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today.
It has been claimed that the revenue collection from tax and non taxed sources has reported a decline of 22.94 per cent.
Tripathy took the review meeting through video conferencing.
The review meetings were not conducted in the last three months due to Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown woes.
It is reported that the State Finance Secretary Ashok Meena put forth the details of fiscal health of the state and talked in detail about the collections from taxes and non tax sources.
The collection of April, May and June last fiscal year stood at Rs 10,645 crore while this year it stood at Rs 8204 crore.
This comes at a time when several businesses and trade have been badly affected due to prolonged curbs imposed under lockdown and shutdowns in the state due to Coronavirus outbreak.
