Bhubaneswar, May 19(LocalWire): The state government early on Tuesday said that it has seen rise of 102 new cases of Coronavirus in the state in their latest testing of samples.
The government also had reported one COVID 19 death from Cuttack.
The latest statistics claim that the total cases in the state touched 978 cases today.
The number of samples testing till now has also crossed one lakh.
“A 75-year-old patient of Cuttack suffering from severe co-morbidity and chronic pulmonary disease was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar Emergency and unfortunately passed away within few hours.
He was later tested and found to be positive for COVID 19,” the State Health Department said.
The latest data claimed that the maximum new cases were reported from Jajpur district which reported 31 new cases.
Jagatsinghpur which was declared to have no active cases yesterday detected 23 new cases of Coronavirus in the latest testing.
Bhadrak witnessed 21 cases while eight other districts too reported new cases.
These included-Kendrapara (8 cases), Cuttack (4), Khurda (4), Puri (4), Angul (2), Balasore (2), Sambalpur (2) and Nayagarh (1).
