Bhubaneswar, Mar 22 (Local Wire): The Odisha government on Sunday decided to suspend movements of all inter-state buses from Monday in order to prevent the buses carrying passengers into the state and also those moving out of the state.
A notification into this regard was issued on Sunday for mass information.
This comes at a time when the threat from Coronavirus looms large and the state government had ordered lock out of the state and puts curbs on several services.
However in this case the services of inter-state buses have been stopped till indefinite period.
The Transport Commissioner office, Cuttack issued the notification into this regard. It said, “COVID 19 has become pandemic and the whole world is affected by the deadly virus.
There is no specific treatment or vaccine till now for COVID 19 and only precaution of the highest degrees is required to decelerate the spread of COVID 10,”
As per the directions of the government inter-state buses coming from other states will not be allowed to reach their destination in Odisha after 11am from March 23.
Similarly no inter-state bus will be allowed to operate to other state from Odisha after 11am from March 23.
The Railway Board has already declared closure of all Passenger Trains with immediate effect and up to midnight of March 31. The trains en-route shall be allowed to reach their destination however.
