Bhubaneswar, June 7 (Local Wire): Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has now announced to resume services of 96 buses from June 8 in the light of relaxation of lockdown curbs.
Arun Bothra, CMD of OSRTC said that this will help in connecting to 22 towns.
“We are resuming regular services with 96 buses connecting 22 towns in the state.
We will keep adding more number of buses and routes over a period of time,”
The official said that however the bus operators have to ensure that they accommodate passengers only upto the seating capacity and no passenger should go standing.
He also said that wearing of masks will be legally binding for the passengers.
“Till last week, out of 440 buses operated by OSRTC, 70 per cent were deployed to facilitate transportation of guest workers.
Now, when this work load is reducing and there is demand for regular bus services from several districts, the OSRTC is resuming its regular operations,” Bothra added.
The official said that OSRTC will take special measures for cleanliness but urged people not to travel it is not urgent.
