Bhubaneswar, July 23 (LocalWire): The state government today said that two more hospitals in the state will now host plasma banks to treat critical patients of Coronavirus.
State Health department additional chief secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra said that currently the services are available in few centres across the state especially in COVID Hospitals, however now two more centres will come up soon.
“Buoyed by the positive results shown by Plasma Therapy we have decided to open two more plasma banks at MKCG Medical College in Berhampur and one at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar soon,” he said.
Mohapatra said that the initial trial of the therapy on critical Coronavirus patients yielded good results.
He urged the cured Coronavirus patients to come forward and donate plasma.
“You can donate plasma after 28 days post cure. We will support your stay and food for plasma donation when you come for the same in the nearby centre,” he said.
