Malkangiri, September 28 (Local Wire) Odisha’s State Commission for Women chairperson Lopamudra Baxipatra on Thursday visited local sub-jail to meet women inmates to access the ground situation.
She, accompanied by her team, interacted with district superintendent of police, in charge of all police stations, Mahila and Shishu desk, and other officers at a meeting.
She discussed on critical issues like domestic violence, child marriage, sexual harassment at workplace, trafficking, offenses against women and follow up action, functioning of Mahila and Shishu desks, 181 helpline, functioning of IAHTU, victim compensation scheme and functioning of Swadhar home.
The chairman also discussed setting up one stop centre in Malkangiri for redressal of women related offenses.
Her visit was very enlightening and informative for all the officers. All the officers were sensitized about the rights and entitlements of women.
