Kendrapara, March 3 (LocalWire): The special task force of the state police is investigating the role of a BJP leader in the allotment of a petrol pump at Kendrapara and ad hoc dealership of a company-operated retail outlet at Paradip to the relatives of a notorious gangster who is in jail.
BJP leader and state committee member Bhuban Mohan Jena was summoned under section 160 of Criminal Procedure Code to appear before STF on 7th March in Bhubaneswar.
Last year, the ministry of petrol and natural gas had asked IOCL to send a report on the allotment of petrol pumps at Kendrapara and Paradip to a person with criminal background in violation of guidelines and IOCL had in turn asked the CBI to probe the deal.
‘We had filed a case against Tito and sealed the petrol pump at Kendrapada and COCO at Paradip,’ said DSP of STF, TK Mohanty.
During investigation, STF found incriminating evidence against Jena regarding the allotment of two petrol pumps in the name of Sayeed Brothers Filling station at Kendrapada and ad hoc dealership of COCO at Paradip to the relatives of gangster Usman Ali alias Tito.
Jena said ‘The notice has been issued with an ulterior motive to defame me and our party before the elections. I have no links with Tito and his family but will appear before the STF.’
