Berhampur, Sept 13 (LocalWire): Students of Science College, Chhatrapur, in Ganjam district today protested in front of the office of Khallikote Cluster University (KCU) here, demanding to de-affiliate the college from KCU. They had staged a demonstration in front of their college on Thursday.
The students also demanded the re-evaluation of answer-sheets of the second semester examination, as around 80 percent students of different streams failed to clear the second semester examinations.
‘The students are facing several problems, particularly in the examination conduction and its publication on time after the college affiliated to the KCU and de-affiliated from Berhampur University,’ said Eju Amin Khan, a student leader.
The results of the second semester of Plus III which was held in April 2018, was published just a week ago.
Moreover, several students could not clear different papers. ‘We think there was faulty evaluation of answer sheets,’ said Mahesh Gouda.
Agitating students submitted a memorandum to the controller of examinations, in the absence of the Vice Chancellor of the university.
‘I have asked the students to give in writing through their principal, if any student get lower marks of his/her expectations.
Answer papers will be re-checked in the next fortnight,’ said the controller of examinations of the university PM Nanda.
He, however, admitted that publication of the result was delayed due to non-availability of evaluators and lack of infrastructure in the university.
He said other than that there were no other anomalies in the evaluation of answer sheets and they would try to publish results on time in the future.
