Bhubaneswar, September 5 (LocalWire): The 5th of September has been celebrated in India as Teacher’s Day since 1962, in honour of the birthday of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Every year, Teacher’s Day is celebrated by the students of schools, colleges and coaching institutes alike with much fanfare.
The students shower their teachers with love and appreciation on this special occasion.
However, this year, no special programs have been organized for the teachers due to schools, colleges and all educational institutions being shut due to the COVID pandemic.
As such, students had to be innovative and find other ways to let their teachers know of their admiration.
Many students organized online celebrations of Teacher’s Day on Zoom calls, while others called their teachers personally to wish them.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi conveyed their wishes to all the teachers through their tweets.
Similarly, renowned sand artist Padmashri Sudarshan Patnaik created a beautiful design through his sand art on Puri beach in honour of all teachers.
