Bhubaneswar, November 5 (LocalWire): For Subroto Bagchi, the chairman of Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), it was a nostalgic trip to his alma mater after more than five decades.
Bagchi, also, an entrepreneur and business leader of repute, has taken a break from hectic work schedule to don the mantle of a teacher at the University High School in Vani Vihar and relive the past.
“Fifty-five years after, I am back to school. Will teach a class every week at the University High School, Vani Vihar which is my first school.
Today we started with a class on visual thinking with a bunch of starry-eyed 10th graders. Never too late, I guess.
I am delighted, so grateful,” Bagchi, also the co-founder of Mindtree, twitted on his official handle.
The classroom teaching by Bagchi is part of the Mo School Abhiyan launched by the Odisha government.
“Under the programme, the government has called upon academicians and experts to voluntarily teach the students to enable them to learn important tips that could come in handy for them in the examination and future life,” Schools and Mass Education Department official Priti Pratiba Bhol said.
“Under the scheme, qualified people are welcome to teach students to bring about qualitative change in classroom teaching,” she added.
