Puri, July 15 (LocalWire): On the occasion of Rasgulla Dibas today, sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik extended his wishes to the people by dedicating his sculpture at Puri sea beach.
Pattnaik shared a picture of his sand art on Twiter, where he projected Lord Jagannath offering pots of ‘Rasgullas’, (popular dessert from the state) to his beloved wife, Goddess Lakshmi.
Rasgulla Dibas is celebrated on the last day of the Ratha yatra festival during Niladri Bije of the Holy Trinity.
On this occasion, Lord Jagannath, before ascending the Ratna Singhasan along with his siblings, approaches his annoyed wife Goddess Laxmi with a pot of Rasgulla to pacify her.
After completing this last ritual of the chariot festival, the deities will ascend the Ratna Singhasans (the bejeweled thrones) and devotees can pay their tributes from tomorrow.
