Bhubaneswar, Oct 13 (LocalWire): The state government on Sunday suspended the Chief District Medical Officer of Sundargarh district for failing to improve the quality of health service in the government-run hospitals in the district.
Pankaj Patel was suspended for negligence of duty and disciplinary action was initiated against him as the citizen-centric feedback under government’s ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative found the official lacking in performing his duty, said officials.
On 2 October, the State health department launched Mo Sarkar scheme to gather feedback from in-patients on quality of services being rendered from government-run hospitals to facelift the health service network.
The outreach programme will help the government plug out loopholes and deficiencies in the system.
The ‘truant’ and negligent doctors would be taken to task on the basis of the feedback from the hospital beds, added the officials.
