Bhubaneswar, October 4 (LocalWire): The state government on Thursday has appointed Sushil Kumar Lohani as Odisha’s chief electoral officer.
In a bureaucratic reshuffle, the government transferred six IAS officers including Lohani, who replaces Surendra Kumar.
Kumar has been assigned the charge as Water Resources Department secretary.
The transfer also included five newly recruited IAS officers who have been posted in various capacities in the state-run corporations.
The decision is being considered as an attempt to provide corporate exposure to the young bureaucrats, all of whom belong to the 2017 batch.
While Somesh Kumar Upadhya has been appointed the chief general manager of Omfed, P Anvesha Reddy has been made the executive director of Odisha Mining Corporation.
Similarly, Patil Ashish Iswar has been appointed the executive director of Gridco; Divakara TS as an officer on special duty of Odisha Computer Application Centre; and Hema Kanta Say has been posted as the managing director of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation.
