Berhampur, Sept 5 (LocalWire): A 40-year-old man, who allegedly cheated a youth by assuring him of a job in the railways, was arrested by the police at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district on Wednesday.
Krushna Chandra Sahu of Mahachhai village in Ganjam district resided in Paralakhemundi and impersonated himself as a journalist, police said.
The accused took Rs 60,000 from Subrat Kumar Patra, an unemployed youth from Gurandi assuring him of a job in the Indian Railways.
He had also taken the Adhar card of the complainant, three months ago and allegedly threatened him with dire consequences, police said.
Sahu was later forwarded to the court, said additional SP (Gajapati) Sitaram Satapathy.
He said a similar cheating case was also registered against the accused in Rayagada district.
