Balasore, Dec 15 (LocalWire): The 37th Raising day of the missile testing range at Chandipur was celebrated today.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Binay Kumar Das, the director of the Integrated Test Range (ITR), a unit of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has made India self-reliant and has proved its mettle ever since its inception.
‘We are inviting friendly nations to come and use the range. Singapore and some other countries have shown interest to test their missiles from this base proving that foreign countries have reposed confidence in our reliable technology and skilled manpower,’ Das said.
Attending the function as chief guest, the vice-chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Chittaranjan Tripathy, hailed the achievement of ITR and its highly professional scientists.
Senior scientists P C Routray, Anup Sahoo, Milan Kumar Pal, Sarat Chandra Patra and Sashi Kumar Rout were among others who spoke on the occasion.
