Kalinganagar, September 25 (LocalWire): As part of its efforts of mainstreaming persons with disabilities (PWDs), Tata Steel today distributed assistive devices and certificates in a function organised at the premises of Kapileswar Mahavidyalaya located in Duburi under Danagadi block of Jajpur district.
As many as 43 PWDs were provided with disability certificates and UDID cards, while 30 were provided with assistive aids like tricycle, crutches and walking sticks.
According to a company release, disabled people from the nearby panchayats of Kalinganagar were provided with the aids.
Earlier, the company had organised an assessment camp to identify the beneficiaries.
The programme was attended by the minister of state for Science and Technology, Public Enterprises, Social Security and Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities Ashok Chandra Panda, and Sukinda MLA Pritiranjan Gharai.
Kalinganagar ADM Santosh Kumar Mishra and Tata Steel Kalinganagar general manager (corporate services) RR Satapathy were also present on the occasion.
