Puri, Feb 11 (LocalWire) A massive fire broke out at Panchupala village under Delanga tehsil in Puri district, in which at least 12 houses and properties worth lakhs turned to ashes, said police on Monday.
Police said fire erupted at a local’s house while the family was asleep on Sunday night. Before the family woke up and informed the fire officials, the flames spread to as many as 11 houses in the neighbourhood.
All furniture, electric goods and paddy at the 12 houses were turned to ashes, said police.
Fire officials from Delanga later brought the flames under control early Monday.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
