Rourkela, Oct 26 (LocalWire) Demanding immediate release of two month’s salary, the sanitation workers of Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) today staged a demonstration in front of the civic body’s office.
“We have not received our salary for September while October is coming to an end” Akhaya Sunni, a sanitation worker, said and held the RMC officials for this delay.
Meanwhile, sources said that the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Rourkela, who is also the commissioner of the RMC, was on leave for 15 days from October 1.
The salary bill could not be signed even after his return on October 16 for which the workers did not get their pay in the month of Puja.
