Jajpur, March 14 (LocalWire): A new state-of-the-art campus of Loyola School built near Kalinganagar was on Thursday inaugurated by T.V. Narendran, CEO and MD of Tata Steel, the promoter.
The school was constructed at a cost of over Rs.25 crores in Gobarghati in Jajpur district.
Spread across 1.3 acres, the two-storey building has 24 classrooms, 5 laboratories, a library with over 2,000 titles and separate reading area for junior and senior students.
The campus, though, is spread over 9.96 acres. It houses a multipurpose hall with a stage, offices and separate sick rooms for boys and girls. Also, there’re 12 quarters, a canteen and a book store.
There are also sports facilities such as a football field, a basketball court, two badminton courts and a volley ball court. A park with swings, see-saws and slides etc. is also built in the campus.
Currently, the school provides education up to Class 8 standard, but it will go up to Class 12, by adding one new class every year. It also has 14 teachers as faculty members.
Transport facilities for students on routes such as Jajpur Road, Brahmanipal and Sukinda are also provided. The campus is expected to promote quality education in the region.
Admissions for pre-KG and higher classes for the 2019-20 academic session will start in the new campus in Gobarghati from March 18, said Narendran.
Other top officials of the company such as Chanakya Chaudhary, vice president (Corporate Services), Rajiv Kumar, vice president (Operations) and Prasanta Mallick, general manager (Corporate Services) also participated in the event.
Loyola School had first started operations, with 84 students in play school level in June 2016 in a temporary campus provided by Tata Steel. The number of students rose to 180 in 2018.
