Bhubaneswar, Feb 12 (Localwire): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted Odisha might witness a steady rise in temperature in the coming weeks.
According to weather scientist of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Sudarshan Mishra, the day and night temperature in the state will increase gradually across Odisha from this week.
Barring Jharsuguda, night temperature in most parts of Odisha had recorded 10 degree Celsius and above on Monday.
“Though the night temperature will have a marginal fall due to the rain, it will remain a little above the normal temperature in coastal Odisha.
However, the day and night temperature in all parts of the state will witness a steady rise after February 16,” Mishra said.
He said the weather will remain dry till February 15 as there is no significant synoptic system over Odisha.
However, there will be light to moderate rain or thunder shower at one or two places in interior Odisha.
According to him, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and hail is likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur on February 16.
