Bhubaneswar, April 24 (LocalWire): As many as four places in the state recorded temperature above 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the Met department informed.
The spells of rain or squalls did little to keep heat at bay. Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius, Malkangiri was at 41.6 degrees Celsius and in Sonepur, Sambalpur and Bhawanipatna the mercury touched 40.2 degrees Celsius.
Some cities were a little better with the temperature staying within the 40 degree mark. Jharsuguda recorded 39.2, followed by Hirakud at 39.1, Sundergarh at 39degrees, Phulbani 38.6, Angul 38.1 and Chandbali 36.8.
The twin cities were also comparatively cooler with 36.4 degree Celsius while Cuttack recorded 37 degrees.
