Bolangir, September 27 (LocalWire): In a crackdown on touts, police, and officials of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) conducted raids and apprehended ten middlemen on Thursday.
The raids were conducted after the chief minister had announced that all government hospital and RTO offices would be freed from middlemen to make government services easier and accessible for all citizens.
Sources disclosed that the Bolangir police conducted the raids on the basis of a tip-off and arrested the middlemen.
The accused were identified as Anu Seth, Rashmita Kumbhar, Barsha Kumbhar, Lily Suna and Ashis Sagar who used charge Rs 1,500 for better treatment for patients.
In another related incident, the police laid a trap and arrested five other middlemen from the RTO.
Those arrested were identified as Suresh Kumar Agrawala, SanaSahu, Shankar Bakul Rupesh Kumar Naik, and Mashi Charan Barik.
The police have registered cases against all the accused.
