Bhubaneswar, February 25 (LocalWire): Young adults and kids nowadays prefer fast foods to traditional fare and giving the popular fast food MNC chains a run for their money is young Odia entrepreneur Biraja Rout’s Biggies Burger ‘n’ More.
Rout’s company, Beamer Foods & Beverages Pvt Ltd, was formed in November 2011 at Bangalore. The franchise ‘Biggies Burger ‘n’ more’ was conceptualized as a cafe and fast food retail enterprise.
‘For any business, it is essential to know your targeted customers and we focused on millennial kids who further lured all age groups because as they say a lot can happen over a burger,’ Biraja told LocalWire. ‘I come from a non-business background and prioritizing things was tough but then I had the advantage of having good people around me,’ he added.
The first cafe began in a 50 sq ft-outlet that expanded into an 1800 sq ft cafe selling burgers, French fries, Hot Dogs, Milkshakes and other snacks.
Biggies now has 22 stores across the nation at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Raipur, Bokaro, Kolkata, Indore, and Hosur while the latest is opening soon at Vijayawada.
Remembering his early days, Rout said ‘I used to participate in college fests with a kiosk of Biggies which used to see a long queue with students waiting for burgers.’
Rout wants to build a multi-national company with at least 30,000 employees, capturing at least 20% of the market share in the burger industry.
‘For me, every problem is temporary. A new entrepreneur must imbibe qualities like patience, self-improvement and trust’, he emphasized. He dreams of tapping and capitalizing the South East Asian countries someday.
