Paradip, September 24 (LocalWire): The police has registered a case against unidentified persons who looted the house of a woman at the Nimidhi village under Paradip Lock police limit last night.
Sources said that the miscreants entered the house of Tulsai Mohpatara by breaking the window and took away one chain, necklace, two rings and cash from her at gunpoint.
Her son lodged an FIR with local police, which is investigating the matter and trying to identify the thieves.
In another incidence, unidentified persons attempted to rob the Balikuda branch of the State Bank of India yesterday night.
However, the thieves could not retrieve any cash and gold stored since the strong room was secured and locked by the employees on Saturday.
The bank employees came to know about the incident when they returned to work on Monday morning and found a window open.
Preliminary examination revealed that the thieves had attempted to remove the locker in the strong room but failed to take it. They, however, took the hard disk linked to the CCTV camera in the bank.
The Balikuda police has registered an FIR based on the complaint by the branch manager Akhilnath Nayak and investigating the matter.
