Berhampur, September 7 (LocalWire): At least three persons, including a woman, were reported to have been washed away in the flooded drains at different places in Ganjam district on Friday.
The body of a 32-year old man, who was washed away while taking a bath in Nandini nullah near Sheragada on Friday, was fished out by the fire personnel and local people on Saturday.
“His body was fished out from the same area when the fire persons resumed search operation in the morning,” the Sheragad police station inspector-in-charge Ramesh Chandra Das said.
The bodies of other two persons have also been recovered by the respective local people and fire personnel on Friday, official sources said.
The deceased were identified as Ramahari Rana (32) of Mali Sahi, Sheragada, Jadi Pradhan (65) of Guhalapur near Digapahandi and Amar Das (52) of Gandapalli under Aska police station limits.
According to Aska police station inspector-in-charge PK Sahoo, Amar Das was rescued by the local people immediately after he slipped into a nullah near Gandapalli and rushed to Aska hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The mishap took place while he was traveling from Gandapalli to Chadheyapalli.
Pradhan of Guhalapur was washed away in the Kanteijhula nullah while she was taking bath. Her body was fished out by the fire personnel from about a kilometer away from the spot. She was rushed to the hospital at Digaphandi, where doctors declared her to brought dead, the police stated.
