Bhubaneswar, June 27 (LocalWire): Tigress Sundari who had been staying at Satkosia Tiger Reserve in the state is now all set to return to Madhya Pradesh within a month.
Earlier this month the Madhya Pradesh government had expressed apprehensions against the receipt of the tigress back to their state and had also written to the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
NTCA however claimed that the matter has been resolved.
“Yes. MP government had expressed their issue with us.
But the matter has been resolved now. We have asked them to shift the tigress as per their preferred location,”
With the reluctance of the MP government resolved, decks have now been cleared for the relocation of the tigress back to MP from Odisha.
The relocation from Odisha is happening as her relocation to Satkosia on account of the country’s first inter-state tiger relocation programme failed.
While Sundari was kept in an enclosure after she attacked nearby villagers, another tiger named Mahaveer who was brought from MP too died months after his relocation to Odisha.
