Bhubaneswar, May 30(LocalWire): Orissa High Court while hearing a plea on suicide of a married man lambasted the popular video making mobile app Tik Tok for lack of regulations.
The app was criticised by a single bench of the court for inappropriate, explicit, bullying and offensive contents shown on the platform.
The court is said to have observed that there was dearth of legislation to counter cyber bullying.
“Tik tok mobile app which often demonstrates a degrading culture and encourages pornography besides causing paedophiles and explicit distrubing content is required to be properly regulated so as to save the teenagers from the negative impact,” the court observed.
The observation of the court and its lambasting the video sharing platform came into light while hearing a case which was allegedly triggered from Tik Tok videos.
It was claimed that a married man committed suicide after watching her wife sharing some objectionable video on the platform.
