Berhampur, Dec 15 (LocalWire) Unfazed by the recent defeat of his party in three states, union oil minister and BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday urged Odisha people to change the government in the state, which he labeled as corrupt and inefficient.
“It’s time came to change the government in the state, which has failed to deliver any good to the people in the last 19 years,” Pradhan said, while addressing a general meeting at Bhismagiri, about 60-km from Berhampur.
Pradha was attending the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) ongoing “Jana Paramarsha Yatra (people contact programme) in the village where he kicked started campaigning for the upcoming state assembly and general elections.
“People has already made up their mind to welcome a change in the state and to make a new Odisha,” he said.
Attacking the Naveen Patnaik government, the union minister said able youths from the state are going to other cities, particularly to Surat in Gujarat, as the government could not provide livelihood to them.
The government has also failed to provide irrigation facilities to the lands while large scale posts of doctors are lying vacant, he alleged.
“In Ganjam district alone, as many as 34 primary health centers are running without doctors,” the union minister said.
Pradhan criticized the government for not implementing Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the health insurance scheme of the center in the state.
“Thousands of Odia people, who work outside the state, will be deprived of its benefits. The health scheme is not implemented in the state due to jealousy against Modi government.” he said.
He also criticized the “Ama Gaon, Ama Bikas” and recently launched PEETHA (Peoples Empowerment – Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives) Yojana.
“In the name of ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Bikas’, the government was distributing crores of rupees to their party workers,” he alleged.
