Berhampur, October 21 (Local Wire) At least three children of Barghara in Gajapati district’s Rayagada
block orphaned by the recent cyclone Titli have been rehabilitated by the local administration at a child home at Paralakhemundi-district headquarter town.
Simanchal (12), Rama (7) and Karika (5) have become orphan after their parents had died in the landslide due to the heavy rains and cyclonic storm Titli on October 11.
The children would be enrolled in the nearby schools to continue their studies, said Arun Kumar Tripathy, district child protection officer (DCPO).
During the visit of chief minister at Champapur, near Bargahar, where around 20 people died in the landslide, Naveen Patnaik had declared the government would take care of the children who had become
orphan due to the cyclonic storm Titli.
The chief minister was seen very emotion when he talked with these orphans before leaving the place.
