Bhubaneswar, Mar 15 (Local Wire): The women Self Help Group (SHG) workers spread across Ganjam district have now chipped to manufacture locally produced masks to give a fight to the global pandemic of Coronavirus and also to cater to the shortage of masks in the market.
Several SHG workers from the state have now started manufacturing the same at their levels. The prophylactic equipment will now be available at the Gram Panchayat levels from Monday, the district administration of Ganjam said on Sunday.
In a statement, the Office of the Ganjam Collector said, “There is no need to worry about the shortage of masks.
Masks prepared by women SHGs in Ganjam are available. It will be available at panchayat level by Monday,”
Other officials told Local Wire that several women SHG workers have started the manufacturing. “Several groups of SHG workers from different parts of the district have now started manufacturing the masks to cater to the shortage of masks in the market at the crucial time of Coronavirus threat.
They are locally producing it with easily available materials but ensuring quality,” Manorama Reddy, Ganjam District Social Welfare Officer told Local Wire.
