Rourkela, july 9 (LocalWire): The toy train, the most sought after attraction at Indira Gandhi Park here before it stopped the joyride because of technical glitches, has resumed its services once again.
The bogeys and the engine of the toy train has been refurbished to give it a pleasantly new look, said railway officials here.
Raj Vir Singh, ED (P&A) inaugurated the toy train platform and flagged off the renovated train in the presence of Gautam Banerjee, ED (Works) and D K Mohapatra, ED(MM).
Also present during the occasion were A K Nayak, GM (TA&CSR), P K Das, DGM I/c (Town Services), B Singh, DGM (Town Engineering) and other senior officers and employees of the department.
Inaugurating the toy train Singh said ‘it will once again be a crowd-puller for the park, which is situated just at the entrance of the steel city.’
‘Whenever I take my family to the park we make it a point to ride the train.
My kids loved to ride it till it was stopped.
We are very happy that it has resumed its services,’ said a local resident Raj Kishore.
Others too spoke on the same lines. ‘The resumption of toy train service would bring more numbers of visitors to the park.
The train makes a small detour around the large pond and the journey is over within five minutes, with the diesel loco pulling it.
It’s a nice experience,’ added Subrat Rout.
