Rourkela, November 23 (LocalWire): The two-day Mid-Term CME, organised by the Rourkela chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) was inaugurated on Saturday at the Hi-Tech Medical College here.
Speaking on the occasion, Rourkela MLA Sarada Nayak said, “I am happy that Rourkela chapter is holding such a conference where modern technologies developed during recent times will be discussed. I am hopeful that this will help all, especially the doctors participating from Rourkela.”
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the guests of honour Hi-Tech director Dr. SK Acyaraya and Ispat General Hospital Rourkela Director SK Pati.
“Medical science is progressing very fast and each day there is something new happening somewhere in the world. Hence, it is pertinent for doctors to keep abreast of developments in their areas of specialisation,” Dr. Acharya said.
He further stated, “I am sure the young doctors will learn a lot from here and implement it in their daily practice because we have many reputed and experienced doctors to share their experiences.”
Pointing out that such conferences should be encouraged and there should be large numbers of participants, Dr. Pati said, “The doctors today cannot just sit on their learning from the colleges and practices. Doctors must know what developments are taking place and offer those facilities for the benefit of society.”
The conference is being attended by over 320 doctors from different parts of the state and the country.
