Paradip, October 7 (Local Wire) The two-day district-level philatelic exhibition ‘Paradeepex-2018 concluded on Sunday with the officials of Department of Posts showcasing the achievements and challenges of the department at Paradip.
Addressing the concluding event, chief postmaster general Santosh Kumar Kamila urged students to make stamp collection a hobby of life.
A total of 40 students from Odisha have been selected to get a scholarship of Rs 6,000 per annum participating in philately quiz under Deen Dayal Sprash Yojana. Besides, a letter writing competition will be held in the state level to promote philately.
Kamila also highlighted different programme of postal department and also informed that a new post office would be opened at IFFCO premise in Paradip.
The philatelic exhibition was presided over by Krushna Chandra Chinara, superintendent of post offices, Cuttack South Division, Cuttack.
Jaleswer Kanhar postmaster general, Berhampur region, Surendra Mohan Mishra, principal of Paradip college, Anup Kumar Rout, eminent philatelist attended this function as the guest of honour.
