Balasore, October 22 (LocalWire): The police have detained two persons and sent a team to team Dantan in West Bengal in connection with the kidnapping of a journalist in Oupada block.
The journalist Srikrushna Sahu is yet to be rescued by them.
Sahu was kidnapped by unknown miscreants on Sunday around 8 pm when he was returning home on his scooter.
According to police sources, the incident is a fall out of business rivalry and soon they would unearth the whole story behind the crime.
Sources reveal that Sahu used to give on rent crop cutting-machines in Dantan area and had engaged services of a caretaker to manage the machine as well as to collect dues.
The caretaker had requested Sahu to arrange for one second-hand crop-cutting machine for him and paid Rs five lakh in advance towards it.
However, since Sahu neither supplied the machine nor returned the money, the caretaker hired some local criminals from Reumna area to recover his money.
These criminals hired a Bolero that was used for kidnapping Sahu.
Using the registration number of the vehicle used for crime, the Nilgiri SDPO Sudam Charan Sahu investigating the case found that the Bolero had gone towards West Bengal.
While the police have arrested two suspects of Mandarpur in Remuna, they are looking for another five persons involved in the case, sources said.
