Berhampur, Dec 15 (LocalWire) Vigilance sleuths have arrested two officials for allegedly taking bribe from two persons in different places in Ganjam district on Friday.
The accused officers are identified as Anil Kumar Jena, who is junior clerk, Block Education Office, Dharkaote and Niranjan Reddy, a block project manager at Patrapur community health center.
Jena was allegedly taking bribe Rs 2000 from a teacher to process a file for release of leave salary, already granted in his favour.
The vigilance sleuths reportedly caught him red-handed and seized the bribe amount from the accused, said vigilance SP (Berhampur) Mayadhara Swain.
Similarly, Reddy allegedly took Rs 2000 from a woman to issue her engagement order as Asha worker. She has been selected as Asha worker by the medical officer.
After arrest, their residential and rented houses at different places
in Berhampur and Patrpur were searched.
